Hi, I am Caitlin.
JP Trusted Advisor - Specialist Support Coordinator
I knew from a young age that I wanted to work in the disability sector, as I hoped to be able to assist people with disability as much as I could. What inspired me? It all started when I was just five years old. My cousin had suffered a brain aneurysm and his recovery was extensive, I remember when he returned home, I wouldn’t let anyone else help him, but me - I think this experience sparked something in me.
At the age of 17, I began my career as a support worker and, over the years, had the opportunity to excel in various roles - including team leader, home site supervisor, roster coordinator and Supported Independent Living (SIL) manager, all while staying true to my passion for supporting people with disability.
I have a Diploma in Nursing and a Diploma in Mental Health, along with several Certificates in Psychology, Youth Counselling, Pharmaceutical Medication and Disability Support.
“I want to help make a positive difference in the lives of others as everyone deserves to live a life full of dignity and respect and I am not one to back down when it comes to advocating for someone’s human rights.”
After years working in the community sector supporting individuals with complex high physical support needs - a role which is both challenging yet deeply rewarding - I joined the JP Trusted Advisor team in 2021 as a Specialist Support Coordinator. Specialising in housing exploration and supporting individuals with high complex physical and psychosocial needs, I believe, as my favourite saying goes ‘everyone’s a star and deserves the right to shine’.
In my role, I approach working with clients and organisations to ensure they receive the best support possible by leading with openness, honesty and integrity. My goal is always to safeguard the rights and wellbeing of our clients, their families and carers. Social role valorisation is something that is very important to me.
When I am not working, you can find me doing what I love - fishing! I also like to stay active and train four times a week and my beautiful daughter keeps me on my toes with her endless energy.
